Richard 'Sean' Manning is an artist, philanthropist, and is the owner of Freedom Run Winery.
He purchased a number of giant circular rocks that had been excavated from under the new Buffalo Football Stadium that he wanted to use for a waterfall exhibit at his WNY art studios.
Once the rocks were onsite he picked up a small piece that had broken off the giant rocks and put it in his pocket. After rubbing it over a few days, he noticed that it had turned jet black.
His wife, Laura Jean, did some research and found a public online engineering report completed by McMahon & Mann. It described the bedrock geology and tectonic history of the ground beneath the new stadium, which told an amazing story of the Rock.
They realized that these Rocks needed to be in the hands of the Fans, and also to help Charities raise funds for their worthy causes!
An idea formulated to craft these rock into Rub Rocks and Wearable Art Jewelry and Collectables, and Buffalo Rock Pile was born... Straight from the Pit!!!
